Xiaomi Redmi S2 will be a budget smartphone from Xiaomi
Xiaomi is planning to launch their new budget smartphone called the Redmi S2 in India and China. It might be an entry-level device and the important features of the device are its dual camera setup and face recognition technology.
Redmi S2 full specifications have been listed on XDA Developer’s firmware file. As per the listing, Redmi S2 have an 18:9 aspect ratio LCD display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. The exact screen size of the device not yet revealed.
The smartphone is expected to sports dual camera setup with 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 or OmniVision OV12A10 as primary sensor + 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 as a secondary sensor. The device has a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 sensor as front selfie camera and will be accompanied by the features of Portrait Mode, Face Unlock, and EIS.
The Redmi S2 will be powered by an MSM8953 AKA Snapdragon 625 processor, is same as Redmi Note 5. As per rumors its run on Android 8.0 Oreo and it has a 3080mAh battery capacity. Talking about battery capacity Redmi S2 battery is efficient it ensures long battery life because of the system OS limiting and controls background process of the device. Redmi S2 will come with 2GB or 3GB RAM options and the files only revealed the device is 16GB storage variant, we can expect more details are available upon launch.
